Unraid July Digest

All things Unraid for July 2026

Unraid Digest #081

Hey Unraiders,

July was a security-focused month, with two releases, a summer sale, and plenty of community activity. Here's everything you need to know.

Unraid 7.3.2 is out now.

A security and bugfix release we recommend for all users. It patches a critical WebGUI vulnerability (CVE-2026-3838), upgrades the Linux kernel to 6.18.38, and updates 73 base packages for CVE coverage. Docker tab performance also got faster, thanks to a community contribution from TSpader.

Unraid 7.2.8 is also out.

A stable, security-focused update for anyone still on the 7.2.X branch. It addresses CVEs across bind, curl, dnsmasq, nginx, OpenSSH, OpenSSL, Samba, and more, upgrades the Linux kernel to 6.12.98, and updates 182 base distro packages. We recommend upgrading for the security fixes.

The Summer Sale wrapped July 19, and wow!

Over 5,000 of you took advantage of the discounts this year, with another 550 adding a second license to build out backups or a second box. Thank you for building with us. Whether it's your first Starter license or your third Unleashed box, we see you, and we're glad you're here.

Also new in Community Apps: CI Runner Farm.

Your server sits idle between media tasks, so put those cores to work! CI Runner Farm turns your Unraid box into a fleet of GitHub Actions self-hosted runners: parallel builds, warm caches, and queue-aware autoscaling, all from a single WebGUI page. No VM, zero cost per CI minute.

  4. I was warned this would happen and I didn't listen. Started as a movie and gameplay storage box. Now it's a gaming VM plus a second GPU for local LLMs, classic homelab scope creep.
