Unraid OS 7.2.0-beta.2 is Now Available!

TL;DR: Why Beta.2 Matters

Unraid 7.2.0-beta.2 makes the OS more mobile-friendly, API-ready, and storage-flexible than ever before all while continuing to polish virtualization, networking, and UX. If you're comfortable navigating beta releases and eager for advanced features like RAIDZ expansion, SSO login, or filesystem flexibility, now’s a great time to test it on a non-production server.

What’s New and Noteworthy

Responsive WebGUI
The Unraid webGUI now adapts dynamically to any screen for seamless server management from everywhere.

Built‑in Unraid API
The Unraid API is now integrated directly into the OS. The new Notifications panel already leverages it, paving the way for future in‑GUI app integrations.

Expanded Storage Support

  • ZFS RAIDZ expansion allows single‑vdev RAIDZ1/2/3 pools to grow one disk at a time.

  • New filesystem formats supported: Ext2/3/4, NTFS, and exFAT join XFS, BTRFS, and ZFS—making migration and drive upgrades much more easy and flexible.

WebGUI Enhancements & UX Fixes

  • Notifications management panel now accessible via the bell icon.

  • Login via SSO (OIDC‑compliant providers, including Unraid.net) now supported.

  • Progress indicators added to Docker/Plugin/VM dialogs.

  • New Tools → “Open Terminal” entry for quick shell access.

  • Dashboard now shows E‑Core vs P‑Core distinctions on Intel CPUs.

Network & VM Improvements

Miscellaneous Updates

  • Various reliability and bug fixes—especially within ZFS, Samba shares, and GUI components.

  • More secure local-only login for http://localhost

  • Auto‑applied license key upgrades.

  • Favicon and web app manifest support added.
